Here at Weddings by Emily Charlotte I have always offered destination wedding services; one of the draws to starting my own wedding business was the opportunity to travel. Like so many, I love to see the world, explore new places and be in the sunshine, so if I could make money at the same time as doing that, it was a no brainer! It was back in 2015 that I made the impulsive decision to plan destination weddings in Italy; I attended an industry FAM trip on the Amalfi Coast and the love affair with Italy started there. I came back boldly declaring I was going to be a wedding planner in Italy and shortly after I booked my first wedding in Tuscany.

Italy flourished and a few years later I added the wedding planning in Spain string to the Weddings by Emily Charlotte bow. On reflection I’m not sure why I didn’t start out with Spain as it’s always been a country that I love; when I’m there something about it just feels like home and I can actually understand/speak more Spanish than I can Italian so it would have been the logical first choice, but things actually worked out for the best by starting with the bigger challenge.

Destination weddings have been my thing, I’ve been lucky that the business has gone from strength to strength and I’ve travelled a lot, just like I set out to do.

At the same time, I have always offered UK wedding planning services, specifically for weddings in England. I’ve had some beautiful English weddings, both full plans and on-the-day coordination bookings, but it’s felt more like I’ve dipped my toe into a very big wedding planning ocean.

Moving forward, I’m taking Weddings by Emily Charlotte in a slightly different direction. Being a UK wedding planner is going to be my primary focus; we’re taking that toe dip to a full on head first dive! You may be aware that I had a baby in October 2023 and naturally this has shifted my priorities, being closer to home and my family it important so at this stage in life, UK weddings feel right for me. I will absolutely still offer wedding planning in Italy and Spain; you can’t get the wanderlust out the girl that easily, but I will be selective with the bookings I take on and spaces for weddings abroad will be more limited.

Whether you’re getting married in England, Spain or Italy, if you’re an EC couple you will have my full dedication, time and passion, as well as the support from my wonderful wider team, for the country chosen is just one part of wedding planning; wherever you decide on we’ll focus on creating a wedding and experience with your loved ones that you will cherish forever.
