This week I LOVE…City Chic!

More and more brides are choosing to establish their career before getting married these days…and why not, with the average cost of weddings rising and women now being more independent than ever (go girls!) it should come as no surprise that a large number of brides are high flying business women dreaming of a modern wedding in the country’s capital.

So here are my top 5 essentials for the perfect city chic wedding:

1. A Sleek and Simple Dress

For the modern bride simplicity is stunning. Go for a plain dress with structure or shape, there are some designers which do this look particularly well such as British designer Ritva Westenius and Spanish designer Jesus Peiro. A classic case of less is more.

2. A FABULOUS pair of shoes

Perhaps you’re feeling a bit daring? In which case add a splash of colour to make a statement, particularly if teamed with a simple dress.

As expected, designer shoes come with a bit of a price tag but you can save elsewhere…right?

3. Orchids

When it comes to flowers the choices are endless, but for me orchids are the perfect match for  a contemporary wedding in the city – simple and striking.

Minimalist, fresh, details can have the biggest impact.

4. The Town Hall

When getting married in the city centre there is often a fantastic choice of Town Hall’s for a beautiful civil ceremony.

They don’t have to be plain and boring and the majority of Town Halls are ideally situated for you and your guests to easily make your way to a gorgeous hotel reception.

If the town hall isn’t for you then it may also be possible to have your wedding ceremony at your preferred choice of sophisticated city hotels.

5. A Super Slick Man

Of course every cosmopolitan bride needs an Uber trendy bit of guy candy.

For me, the ultra city chic groom should have a great suit (it’s all about the cut)…think James Bond making an entrance to a party.
